Alex Foxx is an American guitarist, Percussion instrument and songwriter from Washington, D.C. He is the former lead guitarist, drummer and backing vocalist of American rock band The Relapse Symphony.[1][2][3]
Alex Foxx was born in Miami, Florida. He lived in Florida until he relocated to Alexandria, Virginia at the age of eight. After purchasing his first guitar at the age of twelve, Foxx started focusing on his training, pulling inspiration and influence from bands and musicians such as Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth and Synyster Gates.[2][1]
In the summer of 2009 Foxx would join the band "Seventh Vail" with longtime friends Camden Unglesbee and JC Charles.[4] (It would be three years later that Foxx and Charles would create the band The Relapse Symphony with other member Bret Von Dehl.)[5] After playing a few local shows, the band would open for Vains of Jenna at Jaxx nightclub in Springfield, Virginia.[4]
In 2012 Foxx would create the band The Relapse Symphony with friends JC Charles, Bret Von Dehl, Brandon Kile and Tyler Goyd.[6] [7]It would be in this band that Foxx would gain notoriety for his guitar playing and "buzz worthy" percussion talents.[1] The band would be signed to StandBy Records and release their EP "Times Running Out" in December 2012.[8]
In 2013 Foxx would transition from playing guitar to playing drums for TRS.[9] Soon after Ddrum would add Foxx to its roster of sponsored artists.[10]
In 2015 it was announced that in the summer, Foxx's band The Relapse Symphony would be a part of Vans Warped Tour.
In the summer of 2015, Foxx would depart The Relapse Symphony due to a dispute among band members, just weeks before they were due to play in Vans Warped Tour.[11]
After leaving TRS, Foxx began working as a session musician, performing at concerts and shows as recently as The State Theatre in 2019.[2]
