    Alex McCurry is an American business executive, blockchain expert, investor, and writer who is the founder and owner of Solidity.io.[1][2] He is considered a prolific blockchain and software product expert by several media houses.[3] Alex McCurry has a background in software product design, digital strategy, private equity, and venture capital.[4] He is also known for heavily influencing the development and go-to-market strategies of several major blockchain software platforms.[5][6]

    Early life and education[edit]

    McCurry grew up in Sarasota, Florida. His father was a tennis coach and his mother was a veterinarian. McCurry had athletic inclinations from a young age. At the age of 10, he decided to play tennis full time inspired by his father Andrew McCurry, a former professional tennis player. By the age of 18, he was among the top players in the USA based on the USTA rankings. He achieved a professional tennis win in an ITF Future main draw in November 2018.[7]

    McCurry attended school at Pine View School for the gifted. He founded multiple companies while he was in high school. He decided to pursue entrepreneurship after passing on admission offers universities due to his lack of financial ability to pay for university.[8]

    Career[edit]

    McCurry developed an interest in business and technology at an early age, starting out building a Bitcoin mining enterprise in 2016 and SaaS company in high school with a childhood friend and Stanford Computer Science major.

    After facing some challenges, McCurry went on to build a list of high-profile clientele and partners, through his digital strategy and startup accelerator Astra Strategies LLC. At Astra Strategies, McCurry supported product development and digital strategies for several major brands and partners such as New York Fashion Week, CBDMD, FazeClan, Ignite, Jake Paul, and Uniswap. While at Astra Strategies,[9] McCurry led several investments and acquisitions, growing to an estimated combined portfolio company run rate of over $3mm/yr[10].

    Throughout this time, McCurry made several successful investments in the blockchain and DeFi space with Astra Strategies pivoting the majority of its service-side focus into blockchain and technology startups.

    In 2021, McCurry relocated to Puerto Rico and exited most of his portfolio company holdings, pivoting into pursuing blockchain full-time. During this time, McCurry made the decisions to acquire the Solidity.io and Solidity.com domains.[11] Since 2021, McCurry has been the CEO of multiple highly successful Blockchain development software companies. He is currently serving as the Founder and CEO of Unchaind Labs LLC in Puerto Rico, a holding company with various blockchain-based business interests and investments. McCurry and his portfolio companies since 2020 have built and assessed north of $1B in market capitalization of cryptocurrency startups and protocols.

    In 2022, McCurry founded Unchaind Labs LLC (DBA: Solidity.io), a full-stack Blockchain development firm and Web3.0 product accelerator that focuses on end-to-end blockchain development solutions, financial strategy support, product development, and go-to-market strategy for a very selective list partners. Unchaind Labs specializes in developing smart contract solutions, Web3 products, and decentralized applications for the world’s most cutting-edge institutions, brands, technology companies, and protocols. McCurry is widely considered a leading industry expert focusing on the integration of tokens, DEX’s, DAO’s, NFT’s, digital marketplaces, mobile wallets, and other Web3.0 integrated technologies across a multitude of brands, protocols, and technology startups. Since the inception of Unchaind Labs, McCurry has grown Solidity.io to be considered the gold standard of U.S. based Blockchain development and Web3.0 product development.

    Due to his prolific work in the Blockchain industry, McCurry has been invited to speak on several panels and podcasts, such as the Blockchain.com podcast, Non-Fungible Conference in Lisbon, Portugal (The largest NFT conference in Europe), and others.[12]

    Personal life[edit]

    Currently, McCurry lives in Rincon, Puerto Rico with his Siberian Husky named Caesar. In his free time, McCurry finds joy in longboarding with Caesar, playing tennis, exercising on the beach, and reading books. McCurry's endless drive for additional knowledge leaves him finding himself perpetually studying resources on philosophy, psychology, investing, and technology.
