David A. Navazio (born November 22, 1960) is an American businessman best known as the founder, President, and CEO of Gentell Inc.
David Navazio was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Navazio grew up in the city's Bustleton neighborhood and attended George Washington High School. Navazio's father, Alfred, worked as an aerial photographer and later helped develop a magnetic gradiometer to better detect mineral and oil deposits from the air.[1]
Navazio attended LaSalle University (then LaSalle College) but left without completing his degree. Subsequently, and with the help of his father and brother, Navazio founded a medical device business, M.K.M. Healthcare Corp, in 1990.[1][2]
In 1994, Navazio re-incorporated M.K.M Healthcare Corp as Gentell Incorporated, focusing primarily on the distribution of wound care supplies.[3][4] Headquartered in Yardley[5], Gentell now employs over 700 people[6] and operates in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Brazil, and China. Much of Gentell's international expansion was done through corporate acquistion, such as Ramsbury First Water[7] in the United Kingdom and Integra Life Sciences[8] in Canada. As of 2021, Gentell was reporting annual revenues of over $30 million.[9]
Gentell's product line includes hydrogel, collagen, calcium alginates, and various wound care dressings. Gentell also produces a number of healthcare technologies, primarily focusing on wound care documentation[10] and wound care supply tracking.[11][12]
Navazio has been married to his wife April since 1991. They have one daughter.
Beyond Gentell, Navazio is involved in a number of other business and community ventures. These include an Italian restaurant and an honorary commander title at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.[13][14]
