Irfan Amin Malik (born 03 August 1992) is a Journalist based in Jammu and Kashmir [1][2].
Malik started his career as a staff correspondent with Greater Kashmir newspaper [3].His stoies are seen in many national and international media include Moneycontrol, Rising Kashmir, Quartz, VICE, The Quint, The Wire (India), OZY, The Citizen (India)[4] .
Irfan Amin Malik was the first journalist in Jammu and Kashmir (union territory) who was detained by Indian Security Forces after Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) led central government revoked Article 370 of the Constitution of India in August 2019.Malik was again called to police station for questions on his tweet on new film policy in kashmir [5][6]. In March 2020 he was awarded with gold medal by Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora for securing first position in masters in post graduation in mass communication and journalism. Malik hails from Tral township in south Kashmir Pulwama district. In the year 2020 amid covid19 pandemic Malik has also got two different media fellowships [7][8].
