Robrecht Heyvaert is a Belgian cinematographer known for his work on Black (2015 Belgian film), The Ardennes (film), Revenge (2017 film) and Bad Boys for Life.
Robrecht Heyvaert started working on European features such as Black (2015 Belgian film), The Ardennes (film), Revenge (2017 film) and Gangsta (film). Since 2017 he has been working is the US and Europe on feature films Bad Boys for Life and TV series like Snowfall (TV series)l and Ms. Marvel (TV series).
During his film studies in Brussels, Belgium he met with directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. After working together on the directors student short film they went on to collaborate on 3 Belgian features (Image, Black (2015 Belgian film) and Gangsta (film)) before crossing the Atlantic to work together on Bad Boys for Life.[1][2] In 2020 It was announced El Arbi, Fallah and Heyvaert will collaborate on the feature film Rebel.[3]
He has worked on 2 features directed by Robin Pront. The Ardennes (film) was selected as the Belgian entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards but it was not nominated.[4][5] In 2016 his work on The Ardennes (film) was awarded best cinematography at the Ensor Awards for Flemish Cinema.[6] Their second collaboration Zillion (film) is set to be released in 2022.[7]
