From Wikitia - Reading time: 3 minAnthony Phillip Zana (born June 7, 1979) is an American business executive who serves as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Hexagon in the United States and Sweden.[1] He was named to the position on August 2, 2019, replacing Johnny Andersson, who resigned from the company.[2]
Zana was also appointed to serve as commissioner of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center for an eight-year term in 2013 by Robert J. Bentley. He is now president of the Alabama Space & Science Exhibition Finance Authority (2019-present)[3]
Zana was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he earned a bachelor's degree in management information systems and the University of Mississippi School of Law where he earned a Juris Doctor.[4]
Zana has served for the United States government as law clerk to James Hughes Hancock.
He joined Balch & Bingham LLP in 2005 as an attorney and was a member of the firm until 2007 when he left to join Maynard, Cooper & Gale, where he specialized in general corporate law and mergers & acquisitions.[5]
In January of 2011, Zana joined Intergraph as Vice President and general counsel for the company.[6] There, he directed all aspects of the corporate legal function.[7]
After almost eight years with Intergraph,[8] he was promoted to deputy general counsel of Hexagon and lived primarily in London|London, United Kingdom while working under then general counsel Johnny Andersson.[9]
In 2019, Zana became general counsel of Hexagon and currently serves in that role.[10]
