Afterglow (drug culture)

From Wikidoc - Reading time: 1 min

In the drug community, afterglow refers to the positive physical and mental effects that linger after the main effects of a drug have subsided, or after the peak experience has subsided. Common manifestations involve feelings of detachment or increased psychological clarity. The term is most commonly associated with the consumption of hallucinogens, particularly tryptamines, and dissociatives. This phenomenon contrasts with hangovers, the negative after-effects experienced by users of other psychoactive substances.
