Germ cell tumor screening

Ovarian germ cell tumor:

According to the US preventive services task force, screening for ovarian cancer is not recommended in asymptomatic women.^[1]

Testicular germ cell tumor:

According to the 'KIT Mutations Are Common in Testicular Seminomas' study, screening for seminoma by using the highly sensitive combination of denaturing high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and direct sequencing observed:^[2]
- Mutations of KIT exon 17
- Mutations of D816H
- Mutations of Y823D

Germinoma:

According to the United States Preventive Services Task Force, screening for intracranial germ cell tumor (germinoma) is not recommended among the general population.^[3]
