Overview[edit | edit source]

Other imaging findings for ulcerative colitis can be seen by the help of barium enema. Barium enema may show micro ulcerations. Barium enema must be avoided in severe cases as it increases the risk of toxic megacolon.[1]

Other Imaging Findings[edit | edit source]

Other imaging findings in ulcerative colitis may include a barium enema.[1]*Barium enema may be very effective in the diagnosis of mild to moderate ulcerative colitis. Micro ulcerations may be seen on barium enema, however, barium enema must be avoided in severe cases as it can lead to the manifestation of toxic megacolon.
