Domus Aurea

Roman emperor
Nero
and the
Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore
in
Rome
. On the recommendation of
Giuliano da Sangallo

Michelangelo
,
Pope Julius II
purchases it and places it on public display in the
Vatican
a month later.
