Notes

[edit]
  1. ^ The 1885 Blue Book gives the totals as Blaine 161,157; Cleveland 146,477; St. John 7,649; Butler 4,598; and no Scattering. These totals are not incorrect per se; an elector on each ticket received that number of votes, but in the case of Blaine, Cleveland, and St. John, they are not the totals for the highest elector on each ticket. The 1885 Blue Book does not give the results for all electors.
