The 1980 Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council election took place on 1 May 1980 to elect members of Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council in England.[2] This election was held on the same day as other local elections.
The first third of the council was up for election to new boundaries.[3]
Every councillor was assigned a new ward before the election took place.[4]
