American college football season
The 1995 South Carolina Gamecocks football team represented the University of South Carolina in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) during the 1995 NCAA Division I-A football season . The Gamecocks were led by second-year head coach Brad Scott and played their home games in Williams–Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina .
In an otherwise unsuccessful season, the Gamecocks almost upset No. 14 LSU at home, leading with just over a minute left in the game. However, a late touchdown by the Tigers allowed them to tie the game.[ 1] Due to overtime being permanently implemented in the 1996 NCAA Division I-A football season , this remains the last tie in Gamecock football history, and one of the last ties in college football history.[ 2]
