The Kansas City Royals' season of 2010 was the 42nd for the Royals franchise. It was also the 25th anniversary of their first World Series championship (1985).

The Royals' payroll as the 2010 season opened was $70 million (21st in the major leagues).[1][2] Royals batters struck out 905 times during the season, the fewest of any team in a season in the 2010s.[3]

Regular season

[edit]

Manager Trey Hillman and third base coach Dave Owen (baseball) were dismissed after the game on May 13, 2010 and replaced with Ned Yost as manager and Rusty Kuntz as first base coach with Eddie Rodriguez shifting from first base coach to third base coach.
