The 2016 Liberal National Party of Queensland leadership election was held on 6 May 2016 to elect a new leader of the Liberal National Party of Queensland.[1]

Tim Nicholls was elected as the new leader replacing Lawrence Springborg, while Deb Frecklington replaced John-Paul Langbroek as deputy leader.[2]

Nicholls defeated Springborg on a 22 to 19 in the second round of votes, in the first round Nicholls had 14 votes, to Springborg 17, and Mander was eliminated in the first round with 10 votes.
