2016 NBA season

2016 NBA season may refer to:

2015–16 NBA season, featuring the 2016 NBA Finals, in which the Cleveland Cavaliers, who overcame a 3–1 deficit, defeated the defending champion Golden State Warriors, who won an NBA-record 73 games during the regular season, in seven games. This season was the second of four consecutive Finals matchups between Golden State and Cleveland. Stephen Curry won the second of his consecutive regular season MVP awards and was the first player in league history to win the award unanimously. This was also the final season each for Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett.

2016–17 NBA season, featuring the Golden State Warriors defeating the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers in 2017 NBA Finals, 4–1, during Kevin Durant’s first season with Golden State. Russell Westbrook won his lone regular season MVP award. This season was also the third of four consecutive Finals matchups between Golden State and Cleveland.
