2023 Middle East wars are military and diplomatic crises which are currently taking place in Middle East (North Africa and West Asia ). Initially started on 7 October 2023, when Hamas launched a surprise military operation against Israel. The crisis has spread across the region. This led to Israel to declaring war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip . Yemen is the latest country to officially enter the war.[1] [2] [3] [4] Israel responded by moving military equipment to the Red Sea.[2]
Israel-Hamas War [ edit ]
Started on 7 October 2023 by Hamas when it launched a surprise attack against Israeli.
2023 American-Middle East conflict [ edit ]
Iran backed militants in Iraq and Syria launched attacks on American military bases in Northern lraq and Syria.[5] It responded by doing air raids.[6]
Israeli-Yemen War [ edit ]
Yemen’s Houthis declared war against Israeli state on 31st of October 2023.[7] In response they deployed military equipment in the Red Sea.[8]
Arab World stance [ edit ]
Iran and Lebanon ’s Hezbollah has been the most vocal. Iran condemned Israeli actions against Palestine ’s Gaza , saying that any further attacks, they will not be spared.[9] [10] Qatar recently tried to negotiate a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas .[11] [12] Saudi Arabian officials warns U.S about Israeli ground invasion of Gaza Strip .[13]
U.S. position [ edit ]
United States rallied behind in full support of Isreali government position, stating that the ceasefire could only benefit Hamas .[14]
Chinese position [ edit ]
China called for diplomatic ways to resolve the crisis.[15] It also send military warships into the region.[16]
