The 2024 Washington Democratic presidential primary was held on March 12, 2024, as part of the Democratic Party primaries for the 2024 presidential election. 111 delegates to the Democratic National Convention were allocated to presidential candidates.^[4]

Incumbent President Joe Biden announced on April 25, 2023, his bid for a second term. He faces a primary challenge from author, progressive activist, and 2020 presidential candidate Marianne Williamson.^[5]^[6]

The Washington Secretary of State confirmed that the following names would be placed on the March 12 primary ballot (listed alphabetically):^[7]

Campaign for "uncommitted delegates"[edit]

After a push for Michigan Democratic primary voters to vote for the "uncommitted delegates" option garnered over 100,000 votes in protest to President Biden's handling of the Israel–Hamas war, momentum for Washington voters by activists and politicians to also select the "uncommitted delegates" option has begun quickly growing.^[8]

Notes[edit]

^ This total excludes subtracts 3 delegates allocated by the AP to Biden in Washington state which remain uncalled by Edison Research/National Election Pool (ABC News, CBS News, CNN, and NBC News). While all 92 pledged delegates from Washington state were called for Biden on election night, it is likely that this allocation of delegates will be partially retracted as uncommitted delegates is on track to pass 15% of the vote in at least one of two King County-based congressional districts given election night precinct-level data.^[1]^[2]
