Albana Bilalli, known professionally as Albana, is an Albanian singer, songwriter, and composer known for her performances in various music genres, including soul, R&B, funk, and jazz.[1][2]
Bilalli was born on July 27, 1989, in Pristina, Kosovo.[1] Her early education started in Pristina, where she completed her primary schooling.[2]
She attended the Zenel Hajdini school in Kodra e Trimave and later continued her music education at the Prenk Jakova School of Music. Bilalli continued her formal education by enrolling in the Faculty of Arts in Pristina, specializing in solo singing. She completed her master's degree with a focus on classical singing (mezzo-soprano) on December 17, 2014.[2][1]
Her debut in the music scene took place at the Kënga Magjike festival with the release of her song, "Akull".[3]
In 2017, Albana released her debut album, Drita ime Fajkoi i vogel dhe Valet e shpirtit, which featured songs in Albanian.[4]
She represented Kosovo with traditional Albanian songs at Expo Dubai 2021.[5]
Free is Albana's second album, featuring a sound inspired by the 1960s and 1970s.[6][7] Her music video for the album's first single, "Gentleman", was released on July 15, 2022.[8] Following "Gentleman", Albana released "Too Strong" on October 27, 2022.[9]
On January 12, 2023, Albana released "We go down together", a soul and jazz song.[10]
"I Can Never Get Enough" was released on May 5, 2023, accompanied by an official music video.[11] She performed her then-latest album, FREE, at the Worringer Weekender Festival in Düsseldorf, Germany on June 23, 2023.[12]
