Alessio Zanelli (b. 1963) is an Italian poet who has adopted English as his creative writing language.[1] His poetry has been featured in more than 200 literary journals across 18 countries.
Born in Cremona, Italy, Zanelli started writing poetry and flash fiction in English in the mid-1980s, having learned the language completely as an autodidact, which makes him a representative of modern exophony.
His work has appeared in over 200 literary journals in 18 countries,[2] though mainly in the US and UK, whereas his books include six collections, two bilingual selections and a chapbook.[3][4]
He is the Italian Stanza Representative for The Poetry Society of London.[5]
