Samuel Aniekan, known professionally as BJ Sam, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter.[1][2][3] He is the first singer-songwriter to feature musical acts from all the continents of the world in one song. [4] BJ Sam’s music is characterized by its multicultural fusion of African rhythms with Western instrumentation and styles.[5]
BJ Sam started music in an international classical mass choir at the age of 15.[2] In 2017, the American film director Lloyd Kaufman selected his song "Mon Amour" for the soundtrack of the Hollywood movie Heart of Fatness.[6][7][8] In December 2022, BJ Sam released Christmas music featuring musicians from all the continents of the world, which include Hollywood Actor Paul Raci, Bollywood playback singer Jaspinder Narula, and Ghanaian singer Diana Hopeson.[4][9] In 2023, in response to the war in Ukraine, BJ Sam assembled 23 artists from all continents of the world to release a music video titled ‘Show some love’, asking Russians to drop their weapons and embrace peace.[10][11]
