Baragaon, Ayodhya is a village within Ayodhya district. Baragaon is located 30 km from Ayodhya district headquarters and 100 km from Uttar Pradesh state capital Lucknow.

Baragaon is based on the name of Iranian Mustafahusain urf Bare. The official name of Baragaon is "Mustafabad".

The area is fertile. Many large mango gardens are in the village. This twice-weekly market is under the patronage of Anjuman Zeenatul watan Baragaon.

In the 1951 census, Baragon had a total population of 2,080, of which 575 belonged to Scheduled Castes and 1,505 were from the 'Others' category.[1][needs update]

Culture

Baragaon is a multi-religion society where people of different religions live in harmony.

The main festivals are Holi, Deepawali, Eid, Eid-ul Zuha, Durgapuja, Moharram Mahashivratri and In Durgapuja and Moharram.

Hanuman Garhi temple and Kali Mandir temple are in the main market. Many mosques are present.

Historical buildings include Imam Bara and One Shiv Mandir, and Dildarjahan ka Imamabara. Mansab Ali is an antique handwritten Quran.
