Bullfrog International, LC, founded in 1997, is a Utah-based company that designs and manufactures hot tubs[1] with a branded feature called the JetPak Therapy System.[2] Bullfrog International currently distributes products in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South America, Asia, and Europe.

In March 2023, Bullfrog International named Dan Sjoblom as CEO.[3]

Bullfrog Spas' origin traces back to 1989 when David Ludlow, inspired by his background in pool building, sought to create a more reliable and easily maintainable hot tub. This led to the development of the innovative JetPak Therapy System™, which reduces plumbing and minimizes the potential for leaks by consolidating jet plumbing within the spa's water body.[4]

Bullfrog Spas officially launched in 1996 and quickly received Underwriters Laboratories safety certification, paving the way for the brand's expansion. The JetPak design became a distinguishing feature in the spa industry, allowing Bullfrog Spas to position itself as an innovative market entrant with six initial models.[5]

In the 2000s, Bullfrog Spas expanded manufacturing capabilities and reached international markets, entering partnerships with companies like Villeroy & Boch. The company continued to innovate, introducing a wood-free ABS support structure, advanced IoT spa controls, and experiential retail solutions. The 2020s saw the introduction of the M Series and Swim Series, designed to offer versatile and aesthetically appealing options for customers.[6]

Key Innovations

Bullfrog’s signature JetPak Therapy System™ allows users to customize their hot tubs with interchangeable jetted seats, which can be easily moved or upgraded. The system also features reduced plumbing, enhancing efficiency and pressure control.[7]

The EnduraFrame™ is a wood-free, ABS-based support structure that provides durability and resistance to elements without the risk of rotting or corrosion.[8]

With the rise of IoT technology, Bullfrog Spas introduced Cloud Control, an app that enables users to remotely control and monitor their spa settings.[9]

Bullfrog Spas has pioneered interactive retail displays, including VR and touchscreen kiosks, to engage customers in immersive purchasing experiences.[10]

Corporate Mission

Bullfrog Spas promotes its products as a pathway to creating "Peaceful Lives," emphasizing benefits to mental and physical health, as well as social connections within the home. The company’s mission centers on providing relaxation, pain relief, and improved sleep quality, aligning with its values of customer care and innovation.[11]

Global Presence and Partnerships

Bullfrog Spas distributes its products across North America and licenses its JetPak technology internationally, with significant markets in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. The company's partnerships with dealers are integral to its mission, as they serve as brand ambassadors who deliver Bullfrog Spas’ experience to consumers worldwide.[12]

Awards and Recognition

Bullfrog Spas has earned multiple awards for its innovative designs, including the Red Dot and iF Design awards for the modern STIL model. The company’s M Series also received a Red Dot Award for design excellence in 2020.[13]
