In the history of astronomy, Islamic astronomy or Arabic astronomy refers to the developments made by Islamic astronomers. Islamic astronomy parallels that of other Islamic sciences in its assimilation of known works and development of these works. These include treatises by Indian, Sassanid, and Hellenistic writers.
