Bishops of the (former) Methodist Episcopal Church, whose northern and southern branches, together with the Methodist Protestant Church, united in 1939 to form The Methodist Church (USA).

In 1968 the Methodist Church united with the Evangelical United Brethren (EUB) church, originally created by German-speaking Christians, to form the United Methodist Church.
