Citizen media

From Wikipedia - Reading time: 1 min

Citizen media is an inclusive term that refers to any form of content produced by private citizens and includes production models like public access, community technology centers, digital storytelling, blogs, vlogs (video blogs), and podcasting (audio blogs). This term draws the distinction between centrally-controlled and distributed media (or Corporate media) and those media that are generated by private individuals. Citizen media does not mean that the content is Open Content.
