- Colonial Uruguay (1624−1822) — the Spanish colonial period (1624−1811) and Portuguese colonial period (1811−1822) of present day Uruguay in South America.
- Administratively part of the Spanish Viceroyalty of Peru until 1776 and the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata to 1811, and the Portuguese Cisplatina Province of Colonial Brazil to 1815 and the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil and the Algarves to 1822.
