This is for people from the Colony of Queensland which existed from 1859-1901. Before 1859 it was part of the Colony of New South Wales, so people who were in defining ways in the area before that year, or who were only in the area before that year belong in the Colony of New South Wales people category either in addition to this one or not at all.
