The NAIA men's basketball championship began in 1936–37. Per below, NAIA Divisions I and II existed between the 1991–92 and 2019–20 seasons only. The NAIA was not divisional prior to 1991–92, and the organization removed the classifications after the 2019–20 season was curtailed. This category includes all tournaments, regardless of classification.
