Rocks-and-diamonds games

From Wikipedia - Reading time: 1 min

Rocks-and-diamonds is a sub-genre of puzzle video games. These games are often called Boulder Dash clones after the 1984 game that introduced the concept, or Repton clones after one of the first games inspired by Boulder Dash.

The usual format is side-view tile-based gameplay involving the collection of items ("diamonds") and avoiding being crushed by "rocks" which fall under the influence of gravity.
