Terrae on Mars

From Wikipedia - Reading time: 1 min

Terrae denote extensive areas of land, best thought of as regions rather than individual surface features. The terrae of Mars are generally uplands, often volcanically formed and with rugged, battered terrain. They may be contrasted with the lower-lying planitiae or plains.
