This category is for articles about objects and hoards of objects that have been legally determined to be treasure trove.
- Treasure that has been found at sea is not dealt with by the law of treasure trove, but by the law of salvage which is a branch of admiralty law. Articles relating to this topic should therefore be placed in "Category:Treasure from shipwrecks".
- Articles relating to treasure generally, including reputed and fictional hoards of treasure, should be placed in "Category:Treasure".
