Cerego is a cloud-based adaptive learning technology platform that specializes in educational training technology. The platform is based on principles of neuroscience and cognitive science.[1][2] Cerego's patented[3] technology uses the scientific methods of distributed practice and the testing effect as the basis of user memory retention for content built in and available on their website.[4]
Cerego was co-founded by Andrew Smith Lewis and Eric Young in 2013. In July 2019, Paul Mumma became the Company’s CEO.[5]
In 2009, Cerego launched a new Facebook app called Smart.fm Brainspeed that scans the information in the profiles of the user's friends and then creates a quiz around their personal information.[6]
Preliminary results from a study conducted at Excelsior College in 2014 indicated that using Cerego can help increase grades when studying math and biology online.[7]
In 2015, McGraw-Hill began using Cerego technology to improve their language instruction.[8]
The United States Army and Air Force have used Cerego technology in their combat learning programs.[9]
