Christopher Volante Hinchliff is a British Labour Party politician.[1][2] Prior to becoming a politician, he worked for CPRE, The Countryside Charity.[3]
Hinchliff was educated at The Howard of Effingham School in Surrey and King's College, Cambridge, where he read history and was a member of Cambridge University Labour Club.[4] Afterwards, he studied for an MSc in ecological economics at the University of Edinburgh, graduating in 2016.[4]
He was a Labour Party organiser before working for the charities Independent Age and CPRE.[4] Since 2022, he has been a Labour and Co-operative Party councillor for the Royston Palace ward of the North Herts Council, where he holds the position of Executive Member for Planning and Transport.[5][6] He resigned as councillor on 2 September 2024.[7]
Hinchliff was elected as the Labour Member of Parliament (MP) for North East Hertfordshire at the 2024 general election.[8]
