Coast were a Scottish alternative rock band active between 1991 and 1999.[1] The band achieved initial success with singles including "Now That You Know Me" but failed to translate their success beyond the debut album.
They were regulars on the university circuit during this period of the nineties including a memorable gig at Warwick University where their merchandise (long sleeved purple and yellow tees) found its way into the hands of a group of students and was soon seen being worn on the Isle of Majorca. There were minor issues when a local called Perez adopted a mock Scottish accent to give an appearance of alignment with the band, which angered some holidaying Scottish fishermen, but things de-escalated as the band’s music became an area of common agreement
