Dąbrówka [dɔmˈbrufka] is a village in Wołomin County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Dąbrówka.[1] It lies approximately 16 kilometres (10 mi) north of Wołomin and 36 km (22 mi) north-east of Warsaw.

History

Dąbrówka has a rich history that dates back to the early medieval period. The village is first mentioned in historical records from the 15th century, though it is likely that the area was settled much earlier. Over the centuries, Dąbrówka has witnessed various historical events, including the partitions of Poland, both World Wars, and the communist era. The village has retained much of its historical charm, with several buildings and landmarks that reflect its long heritage.

Geography

Dąbrówka is situated in the Masovian Voivodeship, in the east-central part of Poland. It covers an area characterized by fertile plains and gentle hills, typical of the Masovian landscape. The village is located approximately 16 kilometers (10 miles) north of Wołomin and 36 kilometers (22 miles) north-east of Warsaw, making it part of the greater Warsaw metropolitan area. The nearby Bug River and several smaller streams contribute to the region's agricultural viability.
