The Embassy of the United States in Paramaribo is the diplomatic mission of the United States in Suriname.

History[edit]

The American Embassy in Paramaribo was established on November 25, 1975, following the country's independence from The Netherlands, with Robert L. Flanagin serving as the Chargé d'Affaires ad interim.^[1] The United States and Suriname have maintained positive and mutually beneficial relations following the 1991 Surinamese general election after a period of military rule.^[2]

In 2023, the embassy condemned the storming of National Assembly building by protesters.^[3]
