The Embassy of the United States in Paramaribo is the diplomatic mission of the United States in Suriname.
The American Embassy in Paramaribo was established on November 25, 1975, following the country's independence from The Netherlands, with Robert L. Flanagin serving as the Chargé d'Affaires ad interim.[1] The United States and Suriname have maintained positive and mutually beneficial relations following the 1991 Surinamese general election after a period of military rule.[2]
In 2023, the embassy condemned the storming of National Assembly building by protesters.[3]
