"Expensive" is a song by American singer Ty Dolla $ign featuring Trinidadian rapper Nicki Minaj. The song was released on August 28, 2020, as the second single from the former's third studio album, Featuring Ty Dolla $ign.[1][2] The song was released alongside an official music video.[1]

Background

Ty previewed the record along with another off Dream House that featured the rapper YG on April 12, 2020.[3] The original version of the song featured G-Eazy and leaked in full August 6, 2020.[4] The final version with Minaj was released on August 28, 2020.[5][6][7]

Music video

The official music video coincided with the single release.[1] It features Ty's girlfriend coming home with a luxury vehicle full of gifts and wrapped boxes. Minaj uses green screen technology and only appears from the waist up.[8]
