Franklin Central High School (FCHS) is a public four-year high school in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It is the only high school in the Franklin Township Community School Corporation.

41.2% of the students were eligible for free or reduced lunch.[2]

Athletics

Franklin Central's school colors are royal blue and white and their athletic nickname is the Flashes.

Franklin Central is a member of the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) and the Hoosier Crossroads Conference.[3]

Franklin Central High School is home to 12 boys' sports including Baseball, Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Soccer, Swimming and Diving, Tennis, Track and Field, and Wrestling. Franklin Central also features 12 girls' sports including Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Golf, Gymnastics, Soccer, Softball, Swimming and Diving, Tennis, Track and Field, Volleyball, and Wrestling.

Franklin Central's stadium, the Franklin Township Athletic Center, is a 13,120-square-foot (1,219 m2) multipurpose facility that is used for football and track and field. The stadium is six stories tall and has seating for 3,500 on the home side. The facility was built in 2004 at a one-time cost of $4.3 million.[4]

Super Bowl performance

During the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show in Indianapolis, the Franklin Central drum line and three other local high schools performed with Madonna.[7]

Flashes Wall of Fame

Since 2018, Franklin Central High School has added many educators for their achievements to the coined “Flashes Wall of Fame.” The wall sits next to the Main Entrance.

Franklin Central Choir Programs

Franklin Central has a very notable Choral institution. It has a combined 5 Vocal Choirs and 4 Show Choirs. The 5 Vocal choirs are Chamber, Accents, Ambassadors, Descants, and Vocal Majority. The 4 Show Choirs are Fc Singers, High Voltage, Encores, and Flight. These Choirs are all lead by Andrew Knapp, Brad Gardner, and Jared Yoder. The combined choirs Fc Singers and Chamber, High Voltage and Accents, And Ambassadors, frequently place in state. With all of them coming top 12 the 23-24 season.
