Friday Filmworks is an Indian film production house founded by film director Neeraj Pandey and producer Shital Bhatia in 2008.[1]

Established in 2008, Friday Filmworks' debut film was A Wednesday! which earned Neeraj Pandey the Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film of a Director at the 56th Indian National Film Awards. Friday Filmworks has also produced other films that include Special 26, Baby, Total Siyapaa, Saat Uchakkey, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Naam Shabana, Rustom, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Aiyaary and others.

Friday Filmworks also produced a Marathi film Taryanche Bait in 2011 and a Bengali film The Royal Bengal Tiger in 2014. The company has also produced a slew of popular short films like Ouch!, Ouch 2 Laddoo, and The Relationship Manager for Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films.

In 2016, Friday Filmworks and Reliance Entertainment formed a Joint Venture named Plan C Studios to produce films. The movie Rustom which was released in 2016 was the first film under Plan C Studios followed by Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Naam Shabana, and Aiyaary.

Friday Storytellers is one the digital content production arm of Friday Filmworks; it was founded in 2019 focused on producing multi-format content for OTT and digital streaming.[2] The division released its first official web series Special Ops for Disney+Hotstar in March 2020 followed by the prequel Special Ops 1.5[3] in November 2021. In 2023, Friday Storytellers released The Freelancer a thriller series streaming on Disney+Hotstar.[4]

The division established partnership with Netflix over a strategic multi-project content deal[5] following the success of first collaboration over the popular cop-drama series Khakee: The Bihar Chapter. In an announcement, Netflix revealed Friday Storytellers direct-to-digital film Sikandar Ka Muqaddar and second season of Khakee in its 2024 release slate.[6][7]

Friday Storytellers also collaborated with Amazon miniTV to produce Hack: Crimes Online, a cyber-crime thriller series which was released in November 2023.[8] The division has also created documentaries in history and sports. Discovery Plus partnered with Friday Storytellers for three historical documentaries under the franchise titled 'Secrets' and produced Secrets Of Sinauli, Secrets of the Kohinoor, and Secrets of the Buddha Relics hosted by Indian actor Manoj Bajpayee.[9] In collaboration with VOOT, Friday Storytellers created a 4-episodes docu-series titled Bandon Mein Tha Dum! which follows the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series of 2020-21 which resulted in Indian Cricket Team stunningly defeating Australia team at their home turf of Gabba, where they hadn't lost a test match in 32 years.[10]
