Hervé Le Sourd, known as Hervé, born on February 19, 1991, in Saint-Cyr-l'École (Île-de-France), is a French singer-songwriter, musician, and producer.
He is self-taught and draws inspiration from various musical styles: Britpop, jungle, drum and bass. His first album Hyper, released in 2020, won him the Male Newcomer award at the 2021 Victoires de la Musique.[1]
Hervé[2] was born in February 1991 in Saint-Cyr-l'École. He was raised by his single mother in Fontenay-le-Fleury.[3] He initially dreamed of becoming a professional soccer player. At 16, he decided to pursue music seriously.[4]
In 2015, Hervé started his career in the French-British duo Postaal, alongside Englishman Dennis Brown. Their debut track Freedom garnered attention.[5] Their first album was released in 2018, and Hervé toured with Eddy de Pretto, opening for him, which helped launch his solo career. That same year, in collaboration with Yodelice, he co-wrote three songs (Pardonne-moi, Je ne suis qu'un homme, and Un enfant du siècle) for Johnny Hallyday's posthumous album Mon pays c'est l'amour.[6]
In May 2019, Hervé released his first EP Mélancolie F.C. In June 2020, he released his first solo album Hyper.[7] The album was described by Télérama as “a powerful generational uppercut.” In February 2021, he won the Male Newcomer award at the Victoires de la Musique.[8][9]
In 2023, Hervé announced the release of his second album Intérieur vie, the same year his first child was born.[10]
