Hitorie, sometimes stylized as hitorie (ヒトリエ), is a Japanese rock band formed in 2011 by lead vocalist and guitarist wowaka along with bassist Ygarshy and drummer Yumao under the name hitori atelier (ひとりアトリエ). Backing vocalist and fellow guitarist Shinoda joined in 2012, and the band renamed to its current name the same year.[1]
Hitorie debuted under Hinichijou Records (非日常レコーズ) in 2012 as an indie band, and had their major debut under Sony Music Associated Records in 2014.[6][7] Since 2019, Shinoda (シノダ) has been the lead vocalist and guitarist for the group, succeeding previous frontman wowaka, who died on April 5, 2019, of acute heart failure.[8]
Wowaka was a Vocaloid producer. During his time in hitorie, he often performed his Vocaloid songs in live performances[9][10] which can be found on live albums and also did covers such as "Unknown Mother Goose"[11][12] and "Nichijou to Chikyuu no Gakubuchi".[13]
Shinoda (シノダ) was also a Vocaloid producer, using the pseudonym "Shoudouteki no Hito (衝動的の人)" (impulsive person) who wrote and sings his own arrangement of Touhou under the name "cakebox".[14] He was active as the guitarist of JONNY, Nagoya based band.[15]
Ygarshy (イガラシ) is also the support bassist of "Wasureranneyo (忘れらんねえよ) (Don't Forget)"[16] and was active in Touhou band "Sekken'ya (石鹸屋) (Soap Shop)".[17] He was a member of "JUDGEMENT" unit along with ichigo, the vocalist of "Kishida Cult", and providing music for "Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Club".[18]
