Ione (mythology)

From Wikipedia - Reading time: 4 min

In Greek mythology, Ione (Ancient Greek: Ἰόνη) was one of the 50 Nereids, marine-nymph daughters of the 'Old Man of the Sea' Nereus and the Oceanid Doris.[1][2]

Ione is also claimed to be Persephone's first female lover. She died because she refused to be turned immortal, despite Persephone's suggestion of immortality.
