Kahak (Persian : کهک )[ a] is a city in the Central District [ b] of Kahak County , Qom province, Iran , serving as capital of both the county[ 7] and the district.[ 8] It was also the capital of Kahak Rural District [ 9] until its capital was transferred to the village of Verjan .[ 7]
At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 2,766 in 797 households, when it was in Qom County .[ 10] The following census in 2011 counted 2,906 people in 883 households.[ 11] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 4,837 people in 1,480 households.[ 2]
After the census, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Kahak County, with Kahak as the county's capital.[ 7]
