Kidnapped is a Kenyan movie[1] that Premiered at Planet Media Cinemas,[2] Prestige Plaza, on 6 July 2017. It is based on a story by John Karahare and Serah Mwihaki who went on to write and produce it. Lydia Gitachu took a starring role alongside John Karahare, Adelyne Wairimu, Gilbert Lukalia, and Joseph Wairimu. It was Directed by Nick Njache and Likarion Wainaina.

Production[edit]

Kidnapped[3] was co-produced by Wordypix Company Ltd and Machawood Company and was filmed on location at Maanzoni Lodge, and Gelian Hotel, Machakos County.

Plot[edit]

The movie winds around the story of a woman in love with that special person who has left her for a younger woman. It's the tale of a woman scorned. She's full of vengeance.

Award[edit]

Kidnapped won the Best Original Screenplay[4][5] in Kalasha Awards. The movie was a nominee in the same awards for Best East African Film and Best Feature. Gilbert Lukalia was nominated for Best supporting actor, Likarion Wainaina/Wambui Muigai for Best director of photography as Nick Njache was nominated for Best Editor award.
