Early in the morning of 7 October 2023, approximately 3000 militants,[32][33] from Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the PFLP, and DFLP,[34] breached the Gaza fence and attacked multiple locations in Southern Israel.[32][33] Following this the IDF blockaded, bombed, and then invaded the Gaza Strip.
