Mayda is a village and a gram panchayat within the jurisdiction of the Jaynagar Majilpur police station in the Jaynagar II CD block in the Baruipur subdivision of the South 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal.
Geography
[edit]Mayda is located at 22°11′49″N 88°27′48″E / 22.1969°N 88.4634°E. It has an average elevation of 8 metres (26 ft).
Demographics
[edit]As per 2011 Census of India, Mayda had a total population of 2,736.[3]
Transport
[edit]A short stretch of local roads link Mayda to the State Highway 1.[4]
Baharu railway station is located nearby.[4]
Healthcare
[edit]Sri Ramakrishna Rural Hospital, with 30 beds, at Nimpith, is the major government medical facility in the Jaynagar II CD block.[5]
