Motive is a technology company that creates hardware and software to improve the safety and productivity of physical operations. Shoaib Makani, Obaid Khan, and Ryan Johns founded Motive in 2013 to improve safety and efficiency for businesses. They began with an electronic logging device (ELD) solution for trucking companies. Later, Motive expanded the platform to serve the entire physical economy. Today Motive provides vehicle and equipment tracking, driver safety, compliance, maintenance, and spend management solutions for safety, operations, and finance teams.[ 12]
