National Doctors Forum (Bengali: ন্যাশনাল ডক্টরস ফোরাম, lit. 'National Doctors Forum') (NDF)[1][2][3][4][5] is a pro-Jamaat doctors organization in Bangladesh.[6][7][8] NDF was officially established in 1989.[9]
It participates in elections for the Bangladesh Medical Association in competition with the Awami League-backed Swadhinata Chikitsak Parishad and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party-backed Doctors' Association of Bangladesh.[10][11] It atleast once had an alliance with the BNP-backed Doctors' Association of Bangladesh.[11]
NDF is affiliated with Jamaat-e-Islami[8] and also a member of the Federation of Islamic Medical Associations (FIMA).[1]
In 19 May 1989, the National Doctors Forum was established by Dr. Yusuf Ali with 35 doctors and medical professionals.[9]
In 1997, a committee was formed.[9]
In 1999, another full committee was formed.[9]
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami leader Motiur Rahman Nizami was arrested in June 2013 at a program of NDF at the Jatiya Press Club.[12] It provided medical assistance to Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh in support of Hefazat's 13-point demands in April 2013 in Khulna.[13]
In September 2024, a new committee of Cumilla Branch of NDF was declared,[9] a conference of Tangail District unit of NDF was held,[14] and NDF held a rally in Shahbagh, Dhaka.[15]
In November 2024, a rally was organized by the Mymensingh Divisional branch of NDF.[16]
