The Nigerian Association of Nephrology (NAN) is the national public health institute that focuses on Kidney problem in Nigeria. It is a federal government agency under the Federal Ministry of Health (Nigeria), with its headquarters in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.[1]
The association was inaugurated on 3rd December, 1987 at the University College Hospital, Ibadan by practicing Nephrologists, Urologists, Nephro-pathologists. Emeritus Prof O. O.Akinkugbe CFR, was the Foundation President[2] and the current President is Dr. Adanze Asinobi.[3][4] The matron is Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto. [5][6]
